Energy plant efficiency – Three important types of efficiency. The economics of a power plant concern the cost of generating a certain amount of useful energy or electricity. The operating efficiency of a power plant measures effective power compared to the maximum potential power. Then the energy efficiency of a power plant relates to the ratio between usable output energy and thermal input energy.  Electrostatic precipitators – electrostatic precipitators (ESP).

Their goal is to collect and remove dust particles with a typical efficiency of 99.9% or more from the exhaust gases of a power plant. Above all, Electrostatic precipitators work by applying a positive charge to a group of plates installed at the level of the exhaust gas flow. (1) The boiler uses coal or synthesis gas to boil the water and generate superheated steam.  Lastly, (2) The boiler’s superheated steam expands in the flow turbine to generate energy.
